We had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful group of teachers and students from the
University of Missouri this May. Our 8-day accredited program focused on the
Mediterranean Diet and Lifestyle.

As I've said many times over the years, the Mediterranean Diet (here in Crete) is not a
diet, it is a way of life. The best way to learn that is to live it while visiting Crete. Our
students met over 30 people in the Crete's Culinary Sanctuaries Network -- sustainable
organic farmers, vintners, and olive oil producers; excellent professional chefs and home
cooks; cheese makers, fantastic botanists, musicians, community-based tourism
managers, licensed historians and many other residents that bring the magic of this
island to life.
